Alison Philipson APLiteracy BradfordAlison Philipson worked in advertising before training to be a teacher. After a decade in the classroom – becoming the English Leader in school and also a leading Literacy Teacher in Bradford – she joined the local authority’s Literacy Team as KS1 and KS2 Assessment Lead. In 2012, she launched AP Literacy to enable her to work with more school teams across the country and further developed her expertise as a KS1 and KS2 moderator for the LA and a Deputy Team Standardisation Leader for The Standards & Testing Agency.

Alison and her team now deliver tailored training for educators and school teams on a range of topics including:

  • planning and assessing from the new curriculum – reading, writing, grammar, punctuation, spelling and phonics
  • training in pedagogies such as quality first teaching
  • modelled/shared/guided writing and whole class reading skills lessons
