‘A great fan of many of Alison’s resources (question stems, toolkits, grammar resources and much more). I have been fortunate enough to have twice experience the moderation session (Ks1 and Ks2) with Alison. A fantastic trainer. Really knowledgable and easy going. Provides lots of clarity around writing expectations and assessment. Looking forward to applying advice and suggestions with greater confidence. Thank you.’

I just wanted to let you know that your sentence level writing ideas are working brilliantly on Zoom. Year 4 have had to go into self-isolation due to a positive case of Covid in our bubble. We are at home for two weeks and I’m doing a daily Zoom lesson with both classes. It is quite difficult to think of activities to do where the kids can do a bit of writing but without any resources to hand and so I used your noughts and crosses today and the kids loved it.

“Very grateful that you have thought about the mental health of the pupils and teachers in returning to school following the pandemic.  Especially not overwhelming both by jumping straight into year group curriculum.”

“Always find your training supportive, friendly, informative and realistic.  You really do make overwhelming objectives and writing skills easy to digest and a lot less frightening.”

“Thank you again Alison. Excellent strategies shared in light of COVID-19.  I totally agree with looking at pupils’ knowledge and supporting pupils with embedding writing skills from previous year groups in the Autumn term.”

“Alison, that was absolutely fabulous!  Honestly think going back to basics will make the biggest difference to children’s writing.  I have had really positive feedback about your sessions from every member of staff.  Thank you so much!”

“Just a quick email today to say I really enjoyed the session today – got lots of ideas from it! I am on the Yr2 training tomorrow as well – looking forward to it already!”

“We continue to find your writing phased processes to be very effective with our children.  The WAGOLL and writing phase sets up a precise target, the toolkit phase signposts and embeds the writing skills, and the children are equipped to write their final text.  It makes the workload manageable and we love it!”

“Thank you again for the spelling discussions that we had. I have had 2 weeks working on the games with my class. The amount of children who have got all 10 spellings correct has risen from 6 children out of the 30 getting 10/10, to 17 out of the 30 for the past 2 weeks since I started with the games. The children are begging to learn spellings which is unheard of! We are working on 1 day teaching, 3 days practising and 1 day applying as we discussed.”

“Feedback from teachers was fab!!! Thank you.”

“Just wanted to let you know that we have gone from 33% at ARE in reading last half term to 59% in the test we did yesterday – very, very pleased. Thank you.”

“Thank you again for all your support, help and facilitating the discussions that generate so many good ideas to implement, as well as providing us with great resources.”
